Work package 1: Project management

D1.1 Project kick off meeting A meeting on the consortium, held in Sri Lanka to review draft handbook and partner agreement. This will also be the first steering committee meeting. [month 2]

D1.2 Terms of reference and consortium agreement A document to establish a common understanding between the coordinator and partners as to the technical and financial provisions of the project. [month 2]

D1.3 Project steering committee meeting 2 Second steering committee meeting (provisionally in Bangladesh) to manage project partners, coordinate delivery of project outputs and achievement of anticipated outcomes, and monitor against quality plan. [month 9]

D1.4 Project steering committee meeting 3 Third steering committee meeting to manage project partners, coordinate delivery of project outputs and achievement of anticipated outcomes, and monitor against quality plan. [month 16]

D1.5 Quality plan Standards to maximize the probability that the project will deliver its planned outputs and achieve its intended outcomes, and to monitor and evaluate the project’s activities. [month 4]

D1.6 e-newsletter A minimum of two newsletters to raise awareness of the project among stakeholders. [month 18]

D1.7 Virtual network A virtual platform to facilitate administration and coordination across partner institutions. [month 3]

D1.8) Exploitation and valorisation plan Planning document to enable realisation of the project’s values and to establish post-project and long term sustainability of the project outcomes. [month 9]

D1.9 Independent evaluation Independent monitoring and evaluation of the project’s activities to maximise the probability that the project will deliver its planned outcomes. [month 18]

 

Work package 2: Identify global challenges relevant to South Asia

D2.1 National position papers Seven papers that capture the consensus opinion about the global challenges that are most pressing for Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. [month 8]

D2.2 Regional position paper A paper that captures the consensus opinion about the Horizon 2020 global challenges and research priorities relevant to the South Asian region. [month 10]

 

Work package 3: Identify global challenges relevant to South Asia

D3.1 National stakeholder maps Classification and mapping of stakeholders to global challenges in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, as well as links to regional / international stakeholders. [month 14]

D3.2 Inventory of national and regional stakeholders An inventory of the national and regional stakeholders that can influence the Horizon 2020 global challenges and research priorities relevant to the South Asian region. [month 16]

 

Work package 4: Raise awareness of Horizon 2020 and related schemes 

D4.1 Training event 1 An initial training event with presentations and technical information about Horizon 2020, and instruments to support cooperation with the region. Training materials will be developed by European partners in support of training the Southern Asian partners. The materials will also be made available on the project website for use by organisations outside the consortium. UCLAN and UOP will jointly organise the events to ensure appropriate coordination among European and South Asian participants. [month 9]

D4.2 Training event 2 A second training event with presentations and technical information about Horizon 2020, and instruments to support cooperation with the region. Work package 5: Dissemination and exploitation

D5.1 Public website The website will host information about the project aims, consortium and activities. Copies of public outputs will also be hosted on the site. [month 3]

D5.2 Promotional flyer An electronic and paper advertisement intended for wide distribution by the consortium partners and also hosted on the project website. The flyer is primarily intended to summarise and raise awareness about the project. [month 6]

D5.3 Standard awareness raising presentations and templates Templates that can be used by partner institutions in Europe and Southern Asia when representing the project. Partners will be expected to identify opportunities to deliver presentations at events and conferences that address a broad range of STI topics related to global societal challenges and Horizon 2020. [month 3]

D5.4 Policy briefing Recommendations to the European Commission on how to promote bi-lateral cooperation with Southern Asia to address prioritised global challenges. [month 16]

D5.5 Journal paper Article on regional priorities in Southern Asia for tackling global societal challenges. The draft article will be available by month 18, but peer reviewed publication will likely occur after completion of the project. [month 18]
